The
Ministry of Health and Family Welfare,
Government of the People’s Republic
of Bangladesh, in collaboration with
PPD organized a National South-South
Support Structure Workshop on Thursday,
10 December 2009 at the Auditorium
of International Jute Study Group
(IJSG), Farm Gate, Dhaka.

PPD
and Institute of Child and Mother
Health (ICMH) of Bangladesh conducted
a 10-day International Fellowship
Training Course on Reproductive Health
and Safe Motherhood from 15 –
24 February 2008 at ICMH Compound
in Dhaka.
•
PPD
in collaboration with the Ministry
of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW)
of the Government of the People’s
Republic of Bangladesh organized a
one day workshop on “Access
to Reproductive Health for the Achievement
of ICPD and MDGs: The South-South
Initiative” on 17 September
2007 at Dhaka.
•
PPD
in collaboration with The Weekly Financial
Mirror (a weekly newsmagazine) and
Beximco Pharmaceuticals (a leading
private sector enterprise of Bangladesh),
organized a Roundtable Discussion
on "Public-Private Partnerships
for Reproductive Health in Bangladesh:
a Positive Innovation" on 13th
July 2006 at CIRDAP Auditorium, Dhaka.
•
Bangladesh
launched the Research Network in 2000.
This network provides valuable services
to its population and represents a
learning focus for other developing
countries.
•
With
technical assistance from Egypt, in
2000, Bangladesh lead a programme
to train Islamic religious leaders
in FP/RH in China, India and Thailand.
A total of 1200 religious leaders
benefited from RH and Rights training.
•
Since
2000, Bangladesh has set up a South-South
Centre, which is headed by Mr Jalal
Uddin Ahmed and located in the office
space of the Secretariat.
•
Bangladesh
hosted the IUSSP in 1999 which was
organised by ICDDR,B.
•
In
1998, Bangladesh led the transfer
of RH micro-credit integrated programme
techniques to India. Bangladesh has
since shared its experience in micro-credit
with nearly 100 countries such as
Afghanistan, Kosovo and many countries
of Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America.
•
With
experience gained from Indonesia,
in 1997, Bangladesh provided technical
assistance to Pakistan through the
BD-PAK Economic Commission of SAARC.
Bangladesh also merged its partnership
programme with Thailand to learn their
successful clinical service delivery.
•
The
Ministry of Health and Family Welfare
(MOHFW) of Bangladesh supported the
SAARC technical committee meetings
and workshops in Dhaka organised by
NIPORT and BIRPERHT.
•
Bangladesh
offered fellowship courses in Reproductive
Health, Child and Mother Health to
India, Pakistan, Iran, Indonesia,
Thailand, Myanmar and Nepal; and on
Norplant implant research methodology
to Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, Maldives,
Vietnam and India.
