brought together generic reproductive
health drug manufacturers from
China, India, Indonesia, South-Africa,
Thailand in addition to prominent
experts in the field to deliberate
on the modalities and mechanisms
for the provision of generic drugs
in ensuring reproductive health
commodity security among the developing
countries.

International Workshop on "Consulting
for Results" for the PPD
Consultants
Amman, Jordan —
Eighteen
professionals from eight developing
countries such as Bangladesh,
China, India, Uganda, Zimbabwe,
Kenya, Nigeria and Jordan came
together to attend the International
Workshop in Consulting for Results
during 22-24 August 2006 in Amman,
Jordan. The course was the fifth
and last in a series offered by
PPD and funded by the Government
of the Netherlands.

Award

Education (FOSREF) has won the
2006’s United Nations Population
Award. Dr. Halida received the
award for her outstanding contribution
to raising awareness on family
planning and population issues.

global alliance was launched to
address the worldwide shortage
of nurses, doctors and other health
workers. The Alliance will draw

is worrying, the Population Secretariat
has said. The secretariat has
warned that the population explosion
rate, which is over 3 percent,

rate at which the economy is growing.
