PPD’s
11th Executive Committee Meeting 2006
Taicang, China —
The
11th Executive Committee Meeting of
Partners in Population and Development
(PPD) was held in Taicang City, Jiangsu
Province, China on (11th Meeting)
25th April 2006. The meeting was graciously
hosted by the National Population
and Family Planning Commission of
China (NPFPC) of the Government of
the People’s Republic of China.
The
following members attended the meeting,
H.E. Mme Maiga Zeinab Mint Youba,
Honorable Vice-Chair and Minister
of Health, Government of Mali, Dr.
Jotham Musinguzi, Honorable Treasurer
and Director of Population Secretariat,
Government of Uganda, H.E. Dr. Zhao
Baige, Vice-Minister, NPFPC, Government
of the People’s Republic of
China represented the Honorable Chair,
H.E. Mr. Zhang Weiqing, Minister,
NPFPC, Government of the People’s
Republic of China , Dr. Fouad Hamadi,
General Secretary, Ministry of Health
of the Kingdom of Morocco representing
the Honorable Secretary H.E. Dr. Mohamed
Ceikh Biadillah, Minister, Ministry
of Health of the Kingdom of Morocco,
H.E. Mr. Mizanur Rahman Sinha, Minister
of State, Ministry of Health and Family
Welfare, Government of the People’s
Republic of Bangladesh representing
the Honorable Member H.E. Dr. Khandaker
Mosharraf Hossain, Minister, Ministry
of Health and Family Welfare, Government
of the People’s Republic of
Bangladesh and Mr. Sangeet Harry Jooseery,
Executive Director of PPD.
The
Executive Committee reviewed and discussed
the governance, operational and programmatic
activities and the strategic directions
of the organization. This was the
first EXCO meeting of the new Executive
Director, Mr. Sangeet Harry Jooseery,
since he joined office in late January
2006. In his report, Mr Jooseery,
outlined the vision and strategies
towards reinvigorating PPD, accelerating
South-South activities in the other
developing countries and improving
the collaborative relations with development
partners.
