Consultative
Meeting on Strategic Policy Development
in Dhaka.
Dhaka, Bangladesh —
PPD
in collaboration with UNFPA, organized
a “Consultative Meeting on Strategic
Policy Development” from 20
to 23 June 2007 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
The objective of the meeting was to
analyze the findings of the needs
and priority assessment of PPD member
countries and develop a 4 year Strategic
Business Plan for PPD from 2008-2011.
The meeting brought together eminent
international experts in the filed
of Reproductive Health, Population
and Development from USA, Thailand,
China and Indonesia, a senior representative
from UNFPA-New York and PPD Secretariat
Staff.

PPD
is in the process of developing a
four year Strategic Business Plan
for 2008-2011. A Needs Assessment
has been undertaken by PPD in all
the member states, and following an
analysis of the findings PPD is developing
a Framework for concerted and meaningful
action for the coming four years.
These will be shared with Board members
and Partner Country Coordinators for
inputs, after which the draft will
be shared and discussed at the Board
Meeting scheduled to take place in
Islamabad on the 8th November 2007.
