Africa Strategy Development Workshop
in Kampala, Uganda
Kampala, Uganda — Partners
in Population and Development (PPD)
organized a 4-days workshop for the
development of PPD Africa Strategy
at the Kampala Sheraton Hotel, Uganda
from 23 to 26 February 2007. The workshop
brought together eminent strategy
development experts in the field of
reproductive health, population and
development, representatives of major
stakeholders in Africa such as PPD
African Member States, IPPF Africa
Regional Office, African Union, UNFPA
Technical Support Division, UNFPA.

Division represented by Director of
UNFPA CST Harare and a Consultant
of Hewlett Foundation. The Executive
Director, Director of Africa Regional
Office and officials of both the offices
participated the workshop. A renowned
strategic planning consultant with
decades of experience in the strategy
development particularly for the Africa
region facilitated the 4-days strategic
planning exercise. The intensive planning
exercise produced a draft strategy
document, which is now being reviewed
and revised by all concerned, which
will be submitted to the Board during
its 2007 Annual Meeting for approval.
