International Fellowship Training Course on Essential Newborn Care (ENC) and Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) Held at ICMH

Dhaka, Bangladesh— Institute of Child and Mother Health (ICMH), in conjunction with Partners in Population and Development, organized an International Fellowship Training Course on Essential Newborn Care (ENC) and Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF), targeted towards Health Managers, Doctors or Nurse / Midwives from 2 – 11 August, 2008. The thrust of the course was on neo-natal care and safe motherhood.

The participants of the course included 12 health care professionals from Bangladesh, China, Indonesia and Mali. The course was inaugurated by Professor M.A. Faiz, Director General, Health Services, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and Professor MQK Talukder, Chairman, CWCH and BBF was also present as a special guest. Mr. Amadou Moreau from PPD made a presentation on “South-South Approach in Strengthening Health Programs in Developing Countries”. The participants also visited the PPD Secretariat during their stay in ICMH, Dhaka and had a discussion on PPD activities with the PPD staff.
