PPD
will complement Activities of the
Key Players in RHCS and bridge Knowledge
Gaps
Brussels, Belgium —
PPD, as one of its strategic focuses
in the coming years, is committed
to promote reproductive health commodity
supply and security in the developing
countries, says PPD Executive Director
Mr. Harry Jooseery. Mr. Jooseery made
the remark during his intervention
at the “Ninth Membership Meeting
of the Reproductive Health Supplies
Coalition (RHSC)” held in Brussels,
Belgium on 22-23 May 2008.
In
his presentation, Mr. Jooseery said
that PPD will support the activities
of the key players in RHCS and will
also fill in gaps in knowledge in
its member states and other developing
countries. He said that PPD will continue
to use its existing platform to discuss
and advocate for RH Commodity Security
and play a vital role in promoting
the availability of affordable RH
medicines and commodities that meet
internationally accepted standards
of quality which have been adequately
tested for safety and efficacy in
its member states. He maintained that
PPD will ensure that manufacturer’s
adhere to WHO prequalification standards,
as stated by the Rabat Declaration
adopted by PPD Board during its meeting
on 22 November in Rabat, Morocco.
