Executive Committee and Board meetings
in Kampala, Uganda
Kampala, Uganda —
The
Thirteenth Executive Committee Meeting
of PPD was held on 23rd November 2008
at Imperial Royale Hotel, Kampala,
Uganda. The meeting was chaired by
H.E. Dr. Li Bin, Chair, PPD Board
and Minister of NPFPC, Government
of the People’s Republic of
China. The meeting was attended by
Dr. Zhao Baige, Vice Minister, National
Population and Family Planning Commission,
Government of the People’s Republic
of China, Mr. Adama Diarra, Director-General,
National Solidarity Fund, Government
of Mali and PCC of Mali representing
H.E. Mr. Oumar Ibrahim Toure, Vice
Chair, PPD Board and Minister of Health,
Government of Mali; Mr. Charles Zirarema,
Acting Director, Population Secretariat,
Ministry of Finance, Planning and
Economic Development, Uganda representing
Treasurer of PPD; Mr. Jilali Hazim,
Director of Planning and Financial
Resources, Ministry of Health, Government
of Mali representing the Secretary
of PPD Board, H. E. Madam Yasmina
Baddou, Minister of Health, Government
of Morocco and Mr. Harry S. Jooseery,
Executive Director of PPD. The participant
discussed on certain issues:

Reviewed and adopted the Minutes
of PPD Twelfth Annual Board Meeting
held in Rabat, Morocco, 2007,
- Matters
arising from the decisions of Twelfth
Annual Board Meeting and Twelfth
Executive Committee Meeting, the
programmatic, operational and financial
issues of PPD
- Election
process Executive Committee Members
2008 obtained the special priority.

The
Annual Board Meeting of PPD was organized
in Kampala, Uganda on 26th November
2008 in collaboration with POPSEC
Ministry of Finance, Planning and
Economic Development, Government of
Uganda. The meeting was presided over
by H.E. Dr. Li Bin, Chair, PPD Board,
and Honorable Minister, National Population
and Family Planning Commission of
China (NPFPC) Government of the People’s
Republic of China. Ministers, Board
members, Executive Director, PCC and
PPD personnel were attended the Board
meeting.

Board approved the Minutes of the
Twelfth Annual Board Meeting, Rabat,
Morocco, 2007 and the Minutes of the
Thirteenth Executive Committee Meeting,
Kampala, Uganda, 2008. H.E. Anbumani
Ramadoss Honorable Minister Ministry
of Health and Family Welfare, Government
of India elected as Chair of the new
Executive Committee and H.E. Dr. LI
Bin Honorable Minister, National Population
and Family Planning Commission of
China (NPFPC) elected as Vice Chair.
Beside this, Dr.Boniface Omuga K’
Oyugi Chief Executive Officer National
Coordinating Agency for Population
and Development, Kenya elected as
Secretary. Prof. Dr. Nabiha Gueddana
Director General National Office of
Family and Population (ONFP), Tunisia
elected as Treasurer. This new Executive
Committee will start their journey
from January 2009.
The
Board decided to hold the Fourteen
Annual Board Meeting in Beijing, China
2009.
