National
Support Structure Workshop on South-South
Cooperation in Zimbabwe
Harare, Zimbabwe —
PPD
and the Ministry of Health and Child
Welfare (MoHCW), Zimbabwe jointly
organized a Workshop on National Support
Structure on South-South Cooperation
(NSSSSC) at Crown Plaza, Monomatapa
Hotel in Harare.
H.E
Dr. Henry Madzorera, Minister for
MoHCW Zimbabwe presided over and addressed
the opening session. The Executive
Director, Mr. Harry Jooseery was a
special guest and addressed to the
participants at the Opening Session.
The event was also attended by Dr.
Gerald Gwinji, Permanent Secretary
of MOHCW, Dr. Dhlakama, Principal
Director of MoHCW, Dr. G Bango, Chairperson
of Zimbabwe National Family Planning
Council (ZNFPC), Mr. Basile O. Tambashe,
Country Representative of UNFPA and
Zimbabwean Partners Country Coordinator
(PCC) for PPD, Dr. Stella Simela –Chiriva
Executive Director of ZNFPC.
The
day long workshop had some exiting
presentation on Reproductive and HIV/AIDS
program overview in Zimbabwe. And
had a special session on the core
issues of the work shop: Constitution
of the National Task Force on South
Sotuh Cooperation, and Way forward.
At the end of the workshop, the concerned
authority firmly committed to constitute
the National Task Force.
Following
the workshop the Executive Director
had special meeting with the Board
Member and Minister MoHCW Zimbabwe.
They discussed about the constitution
of the proposed support structure,
Reproductive Health and HIV / Aids
issues in Zimbabwe.
