International
Forum on Sexual and Reproductive Health
held in Spain
Madrid, Spain —
From
last three years, in commemoration
of International Women day, the Spanish
Government in collaboration with African
governments and institutions, held
four meetings of Women for a Better
World in Maputo, Madrid, Niamey and
Monrovia, to analyze and debate ideas,
proposals and strategies for the development
of women in Africa. In relation with
one of the commitment in the Niamey
Declaration, the Spanish Government
hosted a meeting in Madrid on 22-24
June 2009. This meeting created a
space in which to share experiences,
debate ideas and offer future proposals
to confront challenges raised for
healthcare, sexual, and reproductive
rights in Africa and Spain.
Mr.
Harry. S. Jooseery, Executive Director
of PPD, attended different round table
session of this event on an invitation
of the First Vice-president of the
Spanish Government. Some 250 women
participated in this Forum from Africa,
Spain and other European Countries
together with women leaders from multilateral
organization and United Nations Agencies
engaged in the development of sexual
and reproductive healthcare.
