Human
Resource Development for Health Professionals
in PPD Member States: Contribution
from India
New
Delhi, India —
India
provided 10 fellowships to PPD member
countries namely Bangladesh, Nigeria,
The Gambia, Vietnam, Thailand and
China, for a one year Postgraduate
Diploma in Public Health Management.
The course is being held at the National
Institute of Health and Family Welfare
(NIHFW), India. The course fees, accommodation,
meals together with allowances of
Rs. 5000 for each participant are
fully taken care by the Government
of India. PPD is grateful to the Government
of India and Honorable Ghulam Nabi
Azad, Minister of Health and Family
Welfare, of India and Chair of PPD
for the generous contribution in promoting
Human Resource Development for Health
Professionals.
The
Diploma course has been designed with
an aim to develop the capacity of
the public health professionals and
enhance their managerial capabilities
by providing them with tools to efficiently
contribute to the improvement of the
health indicators in their respective
countries. This Fellowship Program
of PPD is an excellent example of
the organization’s efforts in
strengthening Human Resources for
Health through South-South Cooperation.
This fellowship will also be opened
to other PPD member Countries in 2011.
