project Launched in Indonesia
Jakarta, Indonesia —
AFP
collaborative effort aimed at up scaling
family planning in Indonesia was announced
on 6 April, 2010. More than 100 participants
from different organization, government
officials, eminent experts in Reproductive
Health and journalists attended the
project launching program. H.E Dr.
Endang Rahayu Sedyaningsih, MPH, Minister
of Health, Indonesia inaugurated this
event. Dr. Nazrul Islam of PPD Secretariat
attended this event.
In
the inauguration program AFP Project
Director Duff Gillespie avowed that
Universal access to family planning
and reproductive health is essential
for a better future and greater political
commitment is key, He added, “The
project is designed to help Indonesia
to become a champion in family planning
and increase priority for family planning
by creating more resources for family
planning.”
Advanced
Family Planning is an evidence-based,
advocacy effort designed to help developing
countries achieve universal access
to reproductive health. The three-year
program in three countries; Uganda,
Tanzania and Indonesia, aims to revitalize
family planning programs through increased
and more effective funding and improved
policy commitments at local, national
and global levels.
