As the world moves beyond the 30th anniversary of the landmark International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD), the global community stands at a pivotal crossroads: to reaffirm its commitment or risk reversing decades of hard-won progress. The 22nd International Inter-Ministerial Conference, to be held in Dhaka in August 2025 under the theme “Beyond ICPD30: Strengthening Political Will and Solidarity for South-South Cooperation in Population and Development”, will bring together high-level leaders, policymakers, and global partners to assess progress, address persistent gaps, and mobilize South-South Cooperation as a key strategy to achieve the ICPD and 2030 Agenda. Hosted by the Government of Bangladesh and organized by Partners in Population and Development (PPD) and United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), this timely forum will culminate in the adoption of the Dhaka Declaration – a bold call to action for sustainable financing, equitable development, and leaving no one behind.
