Dhaka, Bangladesh – January 12, 2026 – Prof. Dr. Joseph Akinkugbe Adelegan, Executive Director of Partners in Population and Development (PPD), today paid a courtesy visit to His Excellency Mr. Imran Haider, the Honorable High Commissioner of Pakistan to Bangladesh, at the High Commission in Dhaka.
The meeting served as an important occasion for Prof. Dr. Adelegan to formally introduce himself and the PPD organization to the Honorable High Commissioner. During the cordial exchange, the Executive Director extended his sincere gratitude for the enduring contributions and steadfast support of the Government of Pakistan to PPD’s mission of fostering South-South cooperation in population and development.
Prof. Dr. Adelegan highlighted Pakistan’s significant role within the PPD framework, noting that Pakistan currently holds the esteemed position of Secretary of the PPD Board. This leadership role underscores Pakistan’s commitment to advancing reproductive health, family planning, and population development initiatives across the Global South.
In response, H.E. Mr. Imran Haider warmly welcomed Prof. Dr. Adelegan and reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to PPD’s objectives. He expressed his strong support for the organization’s work and conveyed his enthusiasm to further strengthen the collaborative ties. He also expressed a keen interest in visiting the PPD Office in the near future, signaling a deepening engagement between the High Commission and PPD.
