The Partners in Population and Development (PPD) successfully convened the 41st Executive Committee Meeting virtually on 12th January 2026 gathering major leaders of the member states of seven countries.
This meeting was presided over by Prof. Mohamed Douagi, Chair of PPD Board, and held participation of members of the Executive Committee representing The Gambia, Kenya, Pakistan, Tunisia, Uganda, Vietnam, as well as Zimbabwe. The items discussed by the Executive Committee included the full Agenda in respect of Governance, Strategy, Finance, and Institutional Strengthening. The members deliberated extensively with the view to ensuring that PPD remains responsive, accountable, and so positioned to effectively serve its Member States. Professor Joseph Akinkugbe Adelegan, Executive Director of PPD, provided updates on Secretariat operations and ongoing institutional reforms.
Prof. Douagi closed the meeting by thanking the members of the Executive Committee for active participation, constructive deliberations, and post-ExCo continued commitment to PPD’s mission. He noted that the decisions taken during the 41st ExCo Meeting will play a critical role in strengthening PPD’s institutional capacity.
PPD looks forward to operationalizing the outcomes of this meeting and continuing the close collaboration with Member Countries as it advances its strategic agenda for the coming years.
