Today (Wednesday, 11 July 2018) Partners in Population and Development (PPD) observed the Population Day in collaboration with Ministry of Health and Family Planning, Government of Bangladesh along with Civil Societies. The theme of the World Population Day 2018 is “Family planning is a human right”.  Dr Hu Hongtao, Acting Executive Director of PPD along with PPD staff have joined the day long program held in Dhaka.

The “UN International Conference on Human Rights” held in Tehran in 1968 for the first time “Family Planning” globally affirmed to be a human right. The day long programs begin with a colorful rally where people have joined from all sectors related to health and population. The main event of the day was held at the Osmani Memorial Hall in Dhaka at 10:30 am, where Excellency Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, Honorable  Speaker of the Bangladesh Parliament attended as Chief Guest and H.
