The 35th Executive Committee Meeting of Partners in Population and Development (PPD) was held virtually on 14th July 2021. The meeting was chaired by H.E. Mrs Lindiwe Zulu, Chair of PPD Board, Minister of Social Development, Government of South Africa and was attended by H.E. Mr. Zahid Maleque, Board and Executive Committee Member of PPD and Honorable Minister of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW), Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, H.E. Dr. Yu Xuejun, Vice-Chair of PPD Board and Hon. Vice Minister, National Health Commission (NHC), Government of the People’s Republic of China, Dr. Habib Ghedira, Secretary of PPD Board and President Director General, National Board for Family and Population, Ministry of Health, Tunisia, Dr. Mohamed A. Sheikh, Board and Executive Committee Member of PPD and Director General, National Council for Population and Development (NCPD), Kenya, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rizal Damanik, Partner Country Coordinator of Indonesia and Deputy for Training, Research and Development, National Population and Family Planning Board (NPFPB-BKKBN), Government of Indonesia, on behalf of the Honorable Treasurer of PPD Board, D. Gaston AHOUNOU, Partner Country Coordinator of Benin and Public Health Specialist and Epidemiologist, on behalf of the Honorable Executive Committee member of Benin), Dr. P. Ashok Babu, Joint Secretary (RCH), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on behalf of the Honorable Executive Committee Member of India) and Dr. Raúl Cantú, Partner Country Coordinator on behalf of the Honorable Executive Committee Member of Mexico.
The Executive Committee reviewed and discussed the governance, operational and programmatic activities and the strategic directions of the organization and approved the dates for the organization virtually of the 36th Executive Committee Meeting on 16th November 2021 and the Board Meeting on 18th November 2021. In addition, the Executive Committee approved the theme of the 18th International Inter Ministerial Conference on South-South Cooperation in Population and Development on: “Sustained SSC programs for the achievement of ICPD and SDGs” to be held on three sessions: 15, 22 and 29 November 2021.
