Announcement for One year online course: on Post Graduate Diploma in Global Health Procurement and Supply Chain Management (PSCM)

We are pleased to announce that Empower School of Health (a partner institute of PPD) with the support of Partners in Population and Development (PPD) is offering “Post Graduate Diploma in Global Health Procurement and Supply Chain Management (PSCM)” in collaboration with UNAIDS, Roll Back Malaria (RBM) and Red Cross (Kenya) is scheduled to begin from 1st July 2015.

The course provides a solid overview of PSCM issues including the role of government policies, donors, manufacturers, procurement agents and more.

The objectives of the course:

  • Gain a thorough understanding of the fundamentals and PSCM and its linkage with global health
  • Learn management structures and system required for effective operations of PSCM
  • Be able to assess and address supply chain bottlenecks
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of supply chain interventions
  • Design & execute projects for making PSCM more effective
  • Personal and professional growth in terms of leadership and management skills

The course is targeted at health professionals in public health programs (donors, government, NGOs, civil society, academia) and people interested in becoming supply chain / logistics professionals.

Candidates are required:

  • To be able to operate confidentially in both written and spoken English language
  • To be able to commit at least 40 hours per month over a period of 11 months
  • To have completed, at minimum a bachelor’s degree in any discipline
  • Prior work-experience is preferred, though not necessary
