Vacancy Announcement for the position Executive Director. Interested candidates are requested to apply before 14th October 2022

Salary: US$ 86,163 per annum (negotiable) + house + car with driver + other benefits

Partners in Population and Development (PPD), an intergovernmental alliance of 27 developing countries, is seeking to recruit an Executive Director (CEO) for the organization. PPD is leading the promotion of South-South Cooperation towards the attainment of the global population and reproductive health agenda for sustainable development. PPD’s key strategies include senior level advocacy and policy dialogue, capacity building, sharing experience and good practices and building strategic partnerships.

Reporting to the Chair of PPD through immediate supervisor (Host Country Board Member: Bangladesh) and, as the Head of the Secretariat, the Executive Director will be directly responsible for mobilizing political and financial commitments, raising awareness about South-South Cooperation, representing PPD in the international forums and leading the development and implementation of PPD’s Strategic Plan.

REQUIREMENTS  

Applicants must be in possession of MA Degree in Business Administration / Economics / Social Sciences / Humanities Population and Development Studies plus at least 15 years of relevant professional experience in the population and development field in a developing country, of which 8 years’ experience must be in a senior management position.  Demonstrated experience in resource mobilization at an international level. Demonstrated expertise in promoting South-South Cooperation in the areas of Population and Development in the developing countries. Ability to influence in policy and development in international fora. Demonstrated knowledge of reproductive health, population and development issues and services. Understanding of PPD’s mission and mandate. Organizing and managing major national, regional and international forums and event. Budgeting, fund mobilization and development of non-profit performance.

Key responsibilities:      

Overall management and administration of the PPD Secretariat through strategic leadership, policy development and governance. Oversee the development and implementation of PPD’s, strategies, policies, programme design and implementation of the South-South Cooperation programs, projects and regional activities of the South-South Cooperation agenda in line with the PPD mandate. Mobilize resources (financial, technical and political support) from developed and developing countries and strengthening technical and financial collaboration with Governments, United Nations bodies, donor agencies, international organizations as well multilateral organizations. Conduct advocacy, outreach, marketing and networking campaigns as well as strategic stakeholder management for the enhancement of South-South Cooperation in the field of population and development. Build strong and effective strategic partnerships with regional and international alliances. (Including but not limited to BRICS, African Union Commission, UN Agencies, and Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) amongst other international organizations and foundations). Oversee the arrangements of PPD’s Governance meetings, dialogues, conferences and seminars.
