Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe — The 5th Finance and Risk Management Committee (FRMC) Meeting of Partners in Population and Development (PPD) was held in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, 25 January 2014. The committee approved PPD’s dynamic financial plan for 2014. PPD is an unique southern forum of 26 developing countries working the field of population development and SRHR, is going to celebrate its 20th anniversary in this year and the finance committee of PPD approved the celebration plan accordingly.

The committee reviewed the minutes of the 4th FRMC Meeting, held in Beijing, China, 20 October, 2013 and adopted it accordingly. Audited report, audited financial statements and the management report of the period of January to December 2013 was reviewed and approved in the meeting. ED presented the detail Resource mobilization plan and the plan was highly appreciated and approved accordingly.
PPD secretariat was asked to develop a dynamic strategy for collecting annual dues from member countries. The committee gave extended emphasis on partnership development with the potential agencies and donors.
The Building construction update of PPD secretariat was also briefed by ED to the committee. South Africa announced one hundred thousand dollar for the building construction and China also reaffirmed their contribution for PPD specially for the construction purpose.
H.E. Mr. Fidelis Ugbo Esq, Deputy to the Ministry of Planning, National Planning commission, Ministry of Nigeria chaired the meeting.
